Aluminum Radiator &

Electric Fan Installation

Thanks to JamesW's great site, I found out about the AFCO aluminum radiator that is the same size as the early Mustang's stock radiator.  I used part #80100FN, which had the in/out ports on the proper side for the 5.0 waterpump.  Installation was fairly straight forward.  I used four scrap brackets to mount it on the top and bottom.  The fan is a Spal 30100400 1300cfm fan.  Its a pretty low cfm fan, but so far its done fine in 100deg weather.  To mount the fan, I used some scrap aluminum strips bolted to the radiator's top and bottom flanges.  I used a Flex-a-Lite FLX-31147 adjustable temp sender mounted on the hood latch support.  You can see the temperature probe going into the upper radiator hose in the above picture.

The radiator overflow tank is a polished steel one that looks super.  I bought it from Hot Rods USA for $35.  It is on their 'Top Selling Items' page.  I used the 15" tall one, and mounted it to the radiator support using the supplied hardware.
